Fine motor skills refer to the use of the small muscles of the hand for grasping and manipulating objects for play, exploration, functional tool use, and activities of daily living. Visual motor skills refer to the coordination of visual, perceptual, and motor abilities for task performance. Eye-hand coordination skills (for fine motor tool use and pre-writing skills) are a part of visual-motor integration.
Gross motor skills refer to the use or arms, legs, feet or the entire body to produce larger movements. Examples of gross motor skills include: crawling, walking, running, jumping, etc.
